Quickstart: 5-Minute Tutorial

Follow these quick steps to upload your first dataset and publish a map in GeoNode.

Step 1: Go to All Resources

  1. Navigate to the All Resources page.

  2. Click the Add Resource button.

  3. Select Upload Dataset from the dropdown.

You can also upload datasets from the Datasets page.

Step 2: Upload a Dataset

  1. On the Upload a Dataset page, click Select files....

  2. Choose a supported file type from your computer (e.g. SHP, GeoJSON).

  3. Click Upload. A progress bar will show the status.

  4. When done, click View to open your uploaded dataset.

Step 3: Create a Map

  1. In the top navigation bar, click Resource > Save As...
  2. Enter a name and description for your map.
  3. Click Save.

Maps can also be created from the All Resources and Maps pages.

Step 4: Find Your Map

Your saved map will now appear under both the All Resources and Maps pages.
