Styling Data

Maps help you understand data better by visualizing it in different ways. In GeoNode, each dataset gets a Default Style based on its content. When uploading a dataset, a default style is created automatically — which you can adjust to best tell your data’s story.

Step 1: Open the Styles Panel

  1. On the Datasets page, click View to open your dataset.

  2. In the top navigation bar, click Edit → Edit Style.

  3. The Styles Panel will open, showing the default style and editing tools.
