Overview

The Kafue Flats Wetlands Information System (KFWIS) is an online platform for uploading, exploring, and downloading biodiversity occurrence data. Available only to registered staff, with sensitive data limited to authorized individuals.

The platform manages point localities, ranger sections, and parks for all taxonomic groups. Spatial layers including vegetation type and ecosystem threat level can be displayed. Data downloads via polygonal lasso tool or park boundary selection. Key function: generating checklists with conservation status.

Built with open source tools: Postgres/PostGIS, GeoServer, Django, Python.
