Planet Labs, a leading provider of daily Earth data and insights, engaged Kartoza to enhance their QGIS Plugin. The company needed updates to existing features, new functionality, and bug fixes to improve the plugin’s performance and usability.

Scope of Work ¶

Plugin Enhancements ¶

• Added STAC Metadata as an order checkout option
• Implemented “Add to Map” button for proper SkySat imagery band visualisation
• Added Area of Interest (AOI) size display in the search panel

Bug Fixes ¶

• Resolved Basemap panel availability issues
• Fixed connection errors and Planet Basemap cadence ordering
• Corrected Analytics Basemap display problems
• Fixed auto-fill tasking coordinates and terms of use linking

Imagery Visualisation ¶

Corrected SkySat band ordering from “BGR” to the standard “RGB” format expected by GIS tools, ensuring accurate colour channel representation.
