Overview ¶

The REZoning tool is an interactive web-based platform enabling users to identify, visualise, and rank zones most suitable for solar, wind, or offshore wind project development. The platform applies custom spatial filters and economic parameters while leveraging global geospatial datasets and industry assumptions for economic calculations.

Kartoza extended the platform from version 1.0 (developed by devseed and Derilinx) to version 2.0.

• Database updates and inclusion of previously omitted countries
• Updated data layers including ESA WorldCover land use/land cover dataset
• Enhanced export functionality with filtered zone values
• Improved contextual layer display management
