Elia’s career journey demonstrates the power of determination and continuous learning. Starting as a Sales Representative, he made a deliberate transition into technology, becoming a self-taught developer along the way.

In 2013, Elia began formal training in computers and networking, building on his self-taught foundation. This combination of hands-on learning and formal education gave him both practical skills and theoretical understanding.

His warehouse management experience taught him about logistics, coordination, and process management - skills that translate directly into his current role as Team Lead Scrum Master and SLA lead. Understanding how operations work from multiple perspectives makes him more effective at coordinating development teams.

A GIS internship in 2022 added geospatial knowledge to his skill set, aligning him perfectly with Kartoza’s mission. This recent training ensures he understands the domain in which his teams operate, enabling better communication and decision-making.

As a Team Lead Scrum Master, Elia guides development teams through agile processes, removes obstacles, and ensures delivery. His diverse background - from sales to development to GIS - gives him unique perspective on what teams need to succeed.
