Layers¶
Welcome to the documentation for map layers available in the application. This document provides an overview of the map layers, how to access them, and how to interact with and customise their appearance.
DISCLAIMER: Some of the images in the manual may vary slightly from what you see on the platform due to continuous updates to the platform. On the platform you will see
green question mark
buttons in the top right corner (underneath theLOGOUT
button), you can click on these to access the help desk. The user can view the layer description by hovering over the layer.
Layers

Layers: By clicking on the
LAYERS
user will able to see the available layers. -
Map: By clicking on the
MAP
user will able to see map visualisation. -
Available Layers: Available layers side panel, user can use these layers for better visualisation.
Map layers¶

Rivers Layer: The
Rivers Layer
displays the major rivers and water bodies across South Africa. This layer is useful for understanding the hydrography of the region.-

Rivers On Map: The blue lines display the rivers on the map.
- Layer Visibility: You can control the visibility of the Rivers layer using the checkbox provided. To show or hide the layer on the map, simply check or uncheck the box next to rivers.

Roads Layer: The

provides information about the road network in South Africa. It can be valuable for assessing how transportation infrastructure impacts species distribution and conservation efforts.-

Cadastral Cname: Click on the map to view a cadastral's Cname. Depending on the zoom level this will be the Parent Farm, Farm Portion, Holding, or Erf.

Displaying All Layers on the Map: The user can display multiple layers simultaneously to enhance the data exploration experience. To display all layers on the map just select all the layers from the side panel. Users can also select specific layers according to their needs.
